Videodoku der Piratenbewegung in Schweden, Teil 1
Mit “Steal this Film” haben eine “Gruppe von Freunden” der Piratebay, Piratbyran und der schwedischen Piratenpartei den ersten Teil eine auf mehrere Fortsetzungen angesetzten Dokumentation gedreht und ins Netz gestellt. Der Film kann naturgemäß via BitTorrent geladen werden.
Neben den Geschehnissen um die Serverbeschlagnahmung bei TPB, den Hintergründen zu dem Bust im Rechenzentrum und dem folgenden immensen Popularitätszuwachs der schwedischen Piratenpartei behandelt der Film Fragen nach der Zukunft der Kreativität und dem Umgang mit Medien und digitalen Gütern. Zur Veranschaulichung bedient er sich stilgerecht aus einer Reihe populärer Filme.
Neben einer Reihe spannender O-Töne von Antipiraterie-Organisationen, Aktivisten und Leuten von der Straße stellt der Film Ziele der Piratenbewegung in Schweden dar – dies durchaus mit Anspruch. Für die Fortsetzungen sind unter anderem Gespräche mit Noam Chomsky oder dem Journalisten Robert Fisk geplant.
Für die Dreharbeiten am zweiten Teil veranschlagen die Macher ungefähr zwei Monate. Planungen und Unterstützungsmöglichkeiten sind im Wiki zum Film aufgeführt.
Der über halbstündige Film ist gut geshared, steht unter CC-Lizenz und kommt in der “regulären” Version mit 336 MB auf die Festplatte. EIne kleinere iPod-Version sowie eine DVD-Version stehen ebenfalls zur Verfügung. Das Format ist Quicktime – .mov.
