Tom Withers (Klute) has been a musician all his life. As Tommy Stupid he released his first 7″ aged 15 with his legendary skate punk band, The Stupids. They went on to release several more 7″ and Albums with Children of The Revolution and Vinyl Solution Records, John Peel Sessions, and tour the world with their live show.

After a well deserved sabbatical and discovering house and techno Klute was born and Drum and Bass was the music. Initially working for several years with Certificate 18 Records he eventually established Commercial Suicide in 2001, releasing music from a range of artists. Outside the label he continues to DJ and release music with others such as Hospital, 31, Soul:R and Metalheadz.

When not making Drum and Bass, Tom likes to make techno and play drums in his punk band. When not making music, Tom likes to go to skate parks and tend to his beloved allotment.

WWW brings together two rappers who developed a unique rap style in the past years, which is still untouchable today.
Two undergroundlegends from two different countries: RIFLEMAN aka ELLAY KHULE (LOS ANGELES, USA) and TAKTLO$$ (BERLIN, GERMANY).

The album has guestapperances by Aceyalone, Riddlore?, Abstract Rude, Mach-One, I$ar, MOR, Miss Platnum, Hitekk of La Caution, Gulos Potrok, Jaysus, Isyankar & B-Lash

Beside the collaboration songs from both WWW contains also a lot of solo tracks from each rapper.

Auf WWW treffen zwei Künstler aufeinander, die über die Jahre hinweg für sich einen Rap-Stil entwickelt haben, der bis heute einzigartig und unantastbar ist.
Zwei Untergrundlegenden aus zwei verschiedenen Ländern. TAKTLO$$ (BERLIN, GERMANY) und RIFLEMAN aka ELLAY KHULE (LOS ANGELES, USA).

Choenyi: Defervescence.
Six minimal/dubby techno tracks and five remixes from
Lao (mx), Dr. Nojoke (de), Manziping (cl), Daniel Carew (ca) and
Sumergido (ar)

Choenyi kicks off his Yuki Yaki debut with a 6-track EP. This is his third
appearance after the remix on YkYk008 and his compilation track on YkYk005.
He has created cold and dark tracks oscillating between Minimal Techno and
Soundscapes. Profound beats are playing a main part in the conception of
the tracks. The swinging Doma Fourth and the stomping hymn Triling can be
located near Dance floor music. Spheric helicopter flights through a dark
night.
Choenyi’s other issue is Dub. He has made it up of little, reduced
reverb-rooms and the selective use of delays. No element is being pushed
in front and klicking drums leave a lot of room for the dark dub of
choenyi.

The SUBVERSIV*REC. founder, Rushya and Gunporn producer Xndl presents his new album “still there” and once again a huge range of musical styles.

Mostly electronical and IDM influenced music but also analogue sample-based or even Breakcore/Techno influenced sounds can be found on his new album.

Once again affiliated artists are featured. Epic from Clotheshorse Rec (CA), Demune (Ponowai Flora/USA) and Time (USA) have contributed their iRaps for this album. There also can be found a remix project.Mr. Cooper (Wimm Rec) gave Xndl sounds for remixing one of his tracks

This CD contains 13 tracks + random bonus tracks.That means…SURPRISE!!! Some CDs contain the video to the song “on TV”.

Everything is made by Xndl himself, the music the artwork,the mastering and even the manufaturing of the CD. There will be 3 different versions,every one handmade and limited to 111 copies.

Talib Kweli / Madlib presents Liberation Album

Das ist kein liebloser 96kbit-MySpace-Download ohne Cover und Tags. Nein Nein! Verschwenderische 320kbit verwöhnen das Ohr, das Artwork wird komplett in druckbarer Qualität und Bastelanleitung geliefert. Zudem ist der feine Herr Kweli ein ziemlicher Megaseller, vor allem in den USA einer der bekanntesten Rapper und seit Anfang des Jahrtausends eher in Richtung Mainstream unterwegs gewesen. Diese massive Stellungnahme gegen die kommerziellen Vermarktungsstrategien von Musik im Allgemeinen und Rap im Besonderen wird also nicht ungehört verhallen, hoffe ich wenigstens.

Musikalisch reißt das Album zwar nicht vollkommen vom Hocker, besser als 90% des Genres ist es alle mal. Madlib reißt sich dabei ziemlich am Riemen und schneidert Talib Kweli und den zahlreichen Kolaboratoren (u.a. Consequence, Candice) ein paar zeitlose Beats. Noch mal: das hier sind keine Remixes oder Outtakes, alles frisch und exklusiv produziert!

Eine rehäugige Frage bleibt mir als Netzpolitik-Legastheniker: Kann Kweli’s Label Blacksmith jetzt nicht weltweit von allen möglichen Collecting Societies (ASCAP, GEMA etc.) verklagt werden? Immerhin steht hinten das hässliche “All Rights Reserved”? Bitte um Klärung! Ansonsten, danggeschön für die Musik. So eine Offensive verdient Respekt.
