YkYk006: Emmerichk – Nebadon

Yuki Yaki is pround to present this six-track ep by the mexican artist Emmerichk.

His “Nebadon EP” offers Minimal House tunes with an edge.
Crispy clicks and cuts garnish warm floating chords at
cosy minor over a well composed layer of hypnotically pounding rhythms ?
never to fast to spoil the relaxed scenery.
Emmerichk’s music is a wilful mix of sound carpets, clicks-and-cuts
and rhythmical micro-structures. His tracks also adress dancefloor
audience as minimal an dub techno elements are involved in
these songs.

The semi-finals are over and finals are
here! With a squad of players and freedom fighters that include: Seven
Star, Epstein, Deviant, Manuvers, Miles, V8 and Boom & Birds. Third
World Cup 2006 is the official and renegade Third World Power: Rice and
Beans soccer league. Third World Power: Rice and Beans is the official
clothing line of Beta Bodega Coalition. Unlike other organizations that
act more like a world government fueled by corporate sponsors, Third
World Cup are the games of the people! These are the oppressed and
impoverished, the fathers, mothers and children of the global
resistance. The semi-finals are o­n their way with not the fancy foot
work but the beat making skills of the Arepaz label. Representing the
Altiplanos from the Central Andes is Manuvers from the Botanica del
Jibaro and Counterflow camps in Miami. Beat after beat of classic gems
to keep the vibe going against the Ecuadorean counter attack of the
Condors lead by Epstein and Boom & Birds. 20 tracks in all, a
better alternative for this summer. Since the corporate so-called World
Cup is in Germany this year, BBC saw it fitting to call o­n it’s BBC
operatives in Germany (Mooncircle Project and Subversiv records) to
collaborate with. Futbol (soccer) is the game of the people, but this
CD is soundtrack of the people.

The part 3 of this
very successful abstract HipHop/Elektronika compilation is landed and
presents once again a huge range of intelligent and
experimental sounds between analogue and
digital….

This international
release features artists from countries like Australia, Belgium, USA,
France, Italy, UK and Germany. Subversiv*Rec. shows
again it´s keen sense for future sounds and forthcoming trends of the
indie HipHop/ Alternative scene and presents you fresh and straight forward artists and music for people without
blinkers.   The CD version Vol. 3.o contains 16 tracks of fresh and diversified music. The
vinyl-selection that will follow later this year contains
about 35min including vinyl-only bonus material from artists like Demune and other great

YkYk004: Scaff – Knobs and Jacks

Scaff aka Meic Kluge has been loving to deal with regulators and knobs for 17 years.
After his origin in the Pre-Midi-Aeara he had been touring as o­ne half of the minimal-techno act “Wellenreiter” through Germany during the mid of the 1990ies. Always in search of the perfect beat and a whole lot curiosity for innovations. Now he seems to have concluded it.
His love for patch calbles and his discontent with modern technics lead him back to the achievements of the 70ies and 80ies: analogous modular systems. Using them he produces fresh sounds bound into a modern context. His tracks are always unicums being generated live with no further editing. This form of production leads to unique landscapes of an ever modulating sound and beats that seem to want to wind into the ears of the listener.
The “Knobs and Jacks” e.p. is a snapshot of his studioworks.

BTTB – Back To The Basics
XLR8R 07/2002Dubstep heißt der Sound des Jahres. Eigentlich schon des vergangenen Jahres, aber Platten aus diesem Bereich sind selbst per Mailorder bisher nur schwer zu bekommen. Inzwischen kommen aber nach und nach ein paar in Hamburg an – und darunter sind auch die ganz großen Hits dieses noch jungen Sounds. Allen voran der Track Midnight Request Line des erst 19 Jahre alten Skream. Eine Auswahl der erhältlichen Platten hört ihr heute bei BTTB – u.a. mit Digital Mystikz, Loefah, Kode9, JME, Vex’d und Roots Manuva. Der Sprung zu Grime ist nicht groß – deshalb gleich auch noch Musik der Grime-Superstars Kano und Lady Sovereign. Das Bild zeigt übrigens das Titelblatt der XLR8R vom Juli 2002. Dieses Titelblatt soll der Ursprung des Begriffes Dubstep gewesen sein – das behauptet zumindest das Label Tempa, das seine Dubstep Allstars Reihe nach diesem XLR8R-Titel benannt hat. Und diese Reihe hat dann den Begriff Dubstep erst verankert. Wobei die Musik sich seit 2002 gewandelt hat – damals handelte es sich noch um Dub-beeinflussten 2-Step, während heute niemand mehr von 2-Step spricht.
