YkYk011 : '82nd ave – Crowd Of Zero

For left-foot music lovers

ykyk011
Let us rock! David Williams himself supposes about the music of his debut
album, that it is made for left-foot music lovers that are not able to
dance really well. And if they dare to dance anyway, they nod their heads
while moving their arms like clairvoyants asking their crystal balls – but
all in all, they are relatively grounded somehow.
Still, the music of ‘82nd ave is only partly down-to-earth. The sound of
the tracks of the E.P. sometimes is playfully cacophonic, sometimes
harmonious and mellow, but always complex and entertaining.
Now then: Have a nice trip!

Raflesia: German Killer Rap released on 12rec

Hip Hop came a long way since it left the shady backyards of New York City. This Genre is a chameleon and all the differences between the diversified schools of Hip Hop make it difficult to distinguish good from bad. Pure underground exists next to bling-bling mainstream-rap, MCs preaching hate & love in one single track and your up-to-date indierock boyfriend thinks that ‘it’s just sampled…’. Well, all of this is true.
Another point that is important when you’re talking about Hip Hop leads us to Raflesia: Rapmusic depends on where you’re from. Even Jennifer Lopez claims to know it! Raflesia are two MCs and a DJ from Dortmund in western Germany. Raps are German and Spanish, both MCs have a classical, straight-forward style of rapping. While the vocals are quite old-school, DJ Feezen Freezen put up a fresh production that combines rough beats with catchy synthesizer-arrangements and a whole load of little electronic noises and samples from old films and stuff. His productions have a huge pop-appeal. Still, Feezen knows how to disturb the listener every once a while to let him know: this ain’t chart music!
Amigo and Cachafa spit their lyrics between coming-of-age, high-handedness and scents of battle and sketch the whole range of Hip Hop’s thematic repertoire. Amigo is the thin white duke, his texts have a strong philosophic (even therapeutic?) background. Cachafas’ Raps are more gangster. While Amigo is the storytelling guy, Cachafa seems to draw inspiration from beef and battle. You can hear both MCs had been infected in the 90s, probably they admire german rap-groups like RAG and the infamous Stieber Twins and you’ll recognize they’ve grown up between smoking slots and soccer in the Ruhr Area.

This is probably our straightest release. But we love it, and we’re proud to release a tight piece of Rapmusic that fits the region like nothing else. Wir tragen dein Herz auf der Zunge. Word!

review:

Logenplatz im Pantheon is an interesting excursion into European hip hop. It is an engrossing style that, due to its foreign languages, is totally ignored in the English speaking markets. The trio called Raflesia consists of DJ Freezen, Amigo, and Cachefa who mix and rap quality hip hop as good as anything you may hear on the commercial radio stations. This is best described as being of the “Old School”, harking back to the sounds of the 80s and 90s. It is irrevelant on whether you understand the words. The attitude is real and the beat is unfaltering. The must-listen track is easily “Nada P. Flojos”, a relentless barrage of verse and turntables.

Tim Fite : So far the best free online hip-hop album of 2007

Tim Fite – Over The Counter Culture

Tim Fite’s Over The Counter Culture is so far the best free online album of the year. It’s a brash, rude social protest album that slaps you in the face but wins you over with its wit, infectious beats and perverse charm. Fite skewers pretty much everything but concentratea on the ravages of consumerism whether it’s associated with prescribed addictions (the title track), war (”Camoflage”) or hip-hop culture itself (”I’ve Been Shot”). Fite’s vocals rarely go beyond snarling and droning but his lyrics bear the power and precision of a sniper. Other favorite tracks include the consumer’s anthem “It’s Allright” and “Soup of the Day”, a liturgy of brand names carrying the same form of irony you find in Warhol’s Campbell Soup can paintings. Any album that moves my feet, makes me laugh, and forces me to think all at the same time is going to be a winner in my book!

The album is free available in 160kbps MP3.

YkYk010: Glander – Heavy Weights

YukiYaki 010 : Glander – Heavy Weights,

The tracks on “Heavy Weights” really keep their promise.
Each song has its own little world with plenty of room and its own life. And Glander takes a lot of time for these songs.
The length of them seems to be unusual at the first glance but soon you’ll understand that this is part of their secret.
The tracks are captivating, some even hyptnotising. Hearing them, you will move your feet unconsciously.
But you cannot make out their style: There are four fourths, of course, but they are too bassy and dark
to be House – and too smooth for being Techno.
Nevertheless, it doesn’t matter: The tracks will take you on a dive cruise, each of them has its own little valley and
its own moon. So: Take your time.

Free Netaudio-Rap-Attack: 3 HipHop-Releases

Text: Bettina Rhymes/ DEADmagazine.net

Blumentopf, Main Concept, you name it. Nun also epi.kur.

Trotzdem, gudde Pladde.

Pablie – Prelude to Anything Exactly Specific

“A Reason for Understand” ist der psychedelische Opener.

Labeleigner Xavi Forné a.k.a.
